Flight School
A major part of our company is the flight school. We began offering pilot training on helicopters as the first private helicopter school in the country in 1992, and have trained more than 60 pilots.
Our Flight School offers flight training for the helicopters Robinson R22 Beta II and Robinson R44 Raven I (or in your own Robinson Helicopter). The training allows you to pilot a helicopter on your own, and upon completion you will receive your “Private Helicopter Pilot's Licence” PPL (H).
What must I do to get started?
You must obtain a Medical Certificate from a Civil Aviation Medical Examiner prior to going on your first solo flight. In the Czech Republic, the company responsible for providing the certificate is the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Prague. We will provide for you an appointment at IAM in Prague. It is recommended that you obtain your Medical Certificate prior to the start of the training program.
Understanding the theory behind helicopter flight is an essential part of learning to fly
Consequently, you will be taught the theory on all necessary subjects required for flying. Trainees will be gradually introduced with the Robinson helicopter, as well as the aerodynamics and flight mechanics of the helicopter, navigation, meteorology, helicopter equipments, air regulations and other issues related to flying. We teach according to the requirements of JAR-FCL. The final test must be completed in the CAA Prague. We provide training in English language as well.
The practice – let’s get into the air
The outline of practical training is also based on JAR-FCL 2 and it requires at least 45 hours of flight. During the training sessions, future pilots learn to perform all manoeuvres that are needed not only for normal operation: hovering, manoeuvres over the ground - turning, reversing, air taxi, curves, flying on circuit , etc. but also so-called emergency procedures (autorotation, and other elements of piloting) to train pilots for unusual situations. Another part of the curriculum is training in aviation navigation and flights to international airports, such as the Prague - Ruzyně. Our instructors are some of the most experienced, many with a background in Military and Air Ambulance flight, with thousands of hours of in air experience. We also provide training in English. Please compare us with our competitor, do test fly with us to experience why we are number one in the Czech Republic.
Theoretical and practical examinations in our flight school
After the training is complete, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will conduct a test, which consist of theoretical and practical assessments. Upon successful completion of both exams, trainees will receive his/her Private Helicopter Pilot License (PPL - H). Every year, the license must be renewed with an examiner that will test the skill set of the pilot. With this licence you can fly for your own personal use, but not commercially.
Individual approach to flight school
Length of training depends primarily on weather conditions, the time availability and success of future pilot in training progress. Training courses are performed individually according to your needs and progression.
